Harry Potter Birthday Cake

Here we have a Harry Potter Quidditch match! Harry, Malfoy, and Hermione all flying around the outside of the Quidditch field, with the Golden Snitch flying high into the sky! I made this without any of my supplies while I was visiting family. A 4 layer white cake with delicious cream cheese filling. So many colors and so much fun!

Mountain Cake!
This is a giant, delicious carrot cake with cream cheese frosting filling. I poured chocolate ganache over the top of it to creat the mountain look. This cake was made for my father-in-law's surprise 60th birthday party. His favorite things involve speed - biking, skiing, and riding in his red sports car with his wife.

Transformers Cake!

I had a blast making this cute birthday cake! It is a white cake with a cream cheese filling that was dyed bright blue just like the outside frosting. The little buildings were made from chocolate cupcakes, cut into building shapes. This was my first time attempting red frosting and I felt very happy with the result! I love how the red adds a little flare to the whole look of the cake. Also, it was fun to add figurines to a cake. Action scene!

Toilet Paper Cake

I love this cake. I am making a wedding cake next week and I used this as my practice cake. The bride wants a strawberry filling, so I made a strawberry compote to fill the center of this cake, along with cream cheese frosting. The outside is simply buttercream, with a tiny bit of fondant to make the toilet paper effect! Be assured, though, that the real wedding cake will not look like a roll of toilet paper!

Football Cake

I had a lot of fun/difficulty making this baby. First of all, I was silly and built it by myself, without a cake mold. I wont make that mistake twice! It fell apart and I had to rebuild it. It is four layers. It luckily turned out to be a football-looking cake that my one-and-a-half-year-old son looked at and said, "Ah-some!" (Awesome). I also had a few helpers this time. The above mentioned son of mine, a friend of ours who was staying over, and the cake owner's girlfriend. It was good times! The clean-up was lonely and not so good though... :)
