Star Wars-Clone Wars Cake!
This cake was massive, 12x18 inches! I did Carson's Transformers Cake last year and had a blast! This year, his Star Wars-Clone Wars cake was such a blast. I made a 3D "Captain Rex" with his helmet, gun, and all. The wording looks like the lettering of the title of the show. It was difficult to accomplish the task of molding his arm just right. It's supposed to be Rex's right shoulder then his arm is bent (where you can't see it) and it comes up on the other side of the cake with his gun pointing upward. It looked better on paper than on cake, so I learned a lot from this cake and I hope to do better next time I do a 3d cake like this. It is all white cake with cream cheese filling and buttercream icing!
Light-Up Light Saber Cake
(Above: Light Saber not lit up; Below: Light Saber lit up!)
For little Carson's birthday this year, his mom asked me to do a Clone Wars cake, like the new cartoon show based on the Star Wars series. I did a miniature light saber cake to go along with it, and figured out a way to make the light saber light up! (I refuse to make a LIGHT saber without a LIGHT.) I put a toy inside it that lights up with the push of a button. It turned out so cute!
